Introduction:

Over the last decades schools have started stressing the need for holistic development. One of the active presence in the skills of development is the “NCC”.

MOTO: “Unity and Discipline (Ekta aur anushasan) is the moto and the following principles are armaments of the NCC."

• Work hard and without fuss.
• Make no excuse and tell no lies.

GENERAL SERVICE:

The NCC cadets 100 in number, 42nd troop plays a vital role in each academic year. It appreciates the commitment of the students under the following aspects.

• Drill - Civil defence
• Weapon Training - Health and Hygiene
• Human Resource Development. - Adventure Activities.
• Civil Affairs. - Environment and Ecology
• Social Service. - Self defence.

They are also enriched the special army syllabus.

• The armed forces. - Field craft and Battle craft
• Map Reading. - Communication
• Field Engineering .- Leadership.

SOCIALISING SERVICES:

God designed the schools to be the primary trainer of the children. So, it builds the character and achievement in the individuation initiating socializing acts of services. They are:

• Tree Plantation.
• School cleaning.
• Visit to old age home at Somanur.
• Visit to the physically impaired children home- Kinathukadavu, Pollachi.
• Providing tokens of love, time spent together, entertaining with cultural, supporting with provisions they in need of etc.
• Rehabilitative assistance through house hold articles were given to Bihar people at the time of natural disaster.

PROFESSIONAL REVIEW:

“As arrows are in the hands of a mighty man; so are children of the youth."
Thus the NCC cadets achieved a lot in their profession. The unique acts are self-focused here.

• N.S. Parimala has participated in Republic Day camp in 1986 A.D.
• M. Dhanalakshmi – VIII C has been selected for the basic leadership camp at Delhi.
• In the Republic Day camp held at New Delhi Roopakala was one of the troop member in 1993.
• Dimple, Zeena Celiena of IX A were participating in the BLC at New Delhi in 1998.
• V. Sharmila Devi IX A was being selected for firing conducted at New Delhi in 2001.

To crown with Gold of all these achievements SGT Priyadharshini of IX A attended TSC at New Delhi and awarded with Gold medal in firing in the year 2002.

Conclusion:

If a child lives with encouragement, she learns confidence. So, the NCC plays a vital role in reforming the skills of Discipline, Leadership, Social Service, Hope building, coping with crisis and communication.

So, let us affirm and appreciate the cadets with best of luck. And we, the civilians respect the nation which the spiritual faith.
